Sydney grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico where she a developed an interest in design at a young age. Whether she was building miniature furniture or sketching ideas to redesign her bedroom, she always enjoyed creating things. It wasn’t until college that she discovered architecture was the perfect combination of her interests in art, design, and math.

While attending the University of New Mexico, Sydney gained experience working at a local architecture firm in Albuquerque. After earning her Master of Architecture, she relocated to Central Oregon and joined the Steele Associates Architects team.

Growing up in the Southwest has influenced Sydney’s design style and given her an appreciation for Southwestern architecture, materials, and the surrounding landscape. She also has an interest in sustainable design and enjoys finding creative solutions to design challenges.

Outside of the office, Sydney enjoys building furniture, experimenting with new fabrication techniques, playing basketball, fishing, and spending sunny afternoons picnicking at the park.
