Sisters School District Campus Master Plan - Sisters, OR.

The new $21 million high school features 22-acres of playing fields, an environmental studies pond, an outdoor amphitheater and a commons at the heart of the school that functions as the cafeteria and as a lobby for the 1500-seat performance gym and 750-seat theater. The entry plaza serves as an exterior commons, bus waiting area and outdoor performance space. One design goal was to blend into the beautiful ponderosa pine forest and take advantage of the incredible mountain views. This was accomplished by using natural colors and materials and carefully developing the master plan. Select view corridors were developed while saving as much natural landscape as possible. The exterior of the building uses materials that are low maintenance and durable, yet aesthetically pleasing.

“However, the most notable work that I want to note was the work Scott and his firm did in all aspect of the design and architectural work for the new Sisters High School completed in 2003. Again Scott was the principal and lead architect for this project. The results are incredible! The facility Scott designed and led his project team to develop is one that has resulted in a tremendous amount of community pride. It is a durable and sustainable school that serves as a center for community activities that I have no doubt will last well into the next century.”
